
Hanoi to HCMC Routes
We have 4 incredible motorbike routes between Hanoi & HCMC.
These routes can be completed in 2 – 3 weeks but we recommend taking 3 – 4 weeks to make sure you don’t miss anything along the way. All three routes work just as well, whether you start your trip in the North or the South

Route 1: The Mountains

This route stays inland from Hoi An to Dalat through the central highlands. It offers quieter roads with incredible mountain views. If you aren’t looking for beaches and want to avoid the more touristy areas, then this is a good option for you.

Route 2: The Beaches

- 2094km
This route sticks to the coast from Hoi An to Nha Trang then comes inland to Dalat. Through this route you’ll get to visit some nice beach towns such as Quang Ngai and Quy Nhon. Quy Nhon is less touristy than other beach towns, and has some stunning beaches. While Nha Trang is a large tourist town. If you want to see the beaches that Vietnam has to offer, this is best route for you but it comes at the expense of having a busier road to follow.

Huế, Vietnam’s former imperial capital, captivates with ancient temples along the Perfume River.

Route 3: The Beaches & Mountains

- 2344km
This is the most suitable route for most people but takes at least 1 day more than the 2 above. This route heads inland but at Pleiku goes to the coast on the QL19. The benefit of this route is that you get to see the stunning beach at Quy Nhon and take a more scenic route from Dalat to Nha Trang. So if you can afford an extra day and want the best of the beaches and the mountains, then this is the best route for you.

Route 4: The Lesser Known Mountains & Beaches
- }21+ days
- 2344km
This is the longest route we recommend for Hanoi – HCMC. It covers more of the central highlands as well as some of the beaches. There is more stops in and rides in the rural and less touristy areas of the South and Centre of Vietnam. If you have the time and want to see the less touristy areas this is a great option.

Mai Chau
Around 3 hours away from Hanoi, Mai Chau is a small mountain town, famous for it’s scenic landscapes and ancient village where you can buy traditional handmade goods and sample delicious local dishes.

Ninh Binh
Known for it’s iconic, otherworldly landscapes, Ninh Binh is a favourite with visitors to to the North of Vietnam. The most popular attraction for visitors is the cave river tours, where you can explore local cave systems by boat.

Cat Ba Island
East of Hanoi, Cat Ba Island offers visitors a selection of great beaches and delicious seafood. A popular weekend destination for locals and tourists alike, Cat Ba is perfect for an overnight stay.
